The Feed - A Social Value Case Study
In collaboration with Anglian Water
The Challenge
Working with our customer Anglian Water, we began a collaboration to support The Feed in 2022, initiated through our membership of Business in the Community and the East of England Leadership Board.
The Feed is a social enterprise that works to prevent poverty, hunger and homelessness in Norwich. They operate several cafés across the region that offer vital work experience to disadvantaged people, as well as a ‘Social Supermarket’ that provides food for those who are financially struggling.
Our support for The Feed is focused on three key areas:
- Providing training opportunities and access to employment for their customers
- Helping their economic development with our IT support and maintenance services
- Improving their environmental impact through the expertise of our energy and carbon team
The Results
Recently, as part of our ongoing collaboration, we were honoured to deliver a tailored training session for The Feed that was designed to increase its members’ digital skills and their confidence in accessing services online.
Joined by colleagues from Anglian Water, our Head of Social Value hosted the in-person, drop-in session to nine participants. The training covered a range of helpful and practical topics such as how to set up an email account and advice on accessing the internet safely.
Through our involvement in these social impact initiatives, we are committed to tackling digital exclusion and helping to improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged and underrepresented groups by widening the choices available to them.
