The complexity of EMCOR UK’s operations relies on a multi-talented, dynamic body of professionals to support our colleagues across the country. At the centre of our organisation are the people who oversee our key business functions including Business Development, Commercial, Energy and Carbon Solutions, Finance, Health and Safety, HR, IT, Legal, Marketing and Procurement.

In the facilities management world, two days are rarely the same. We continuously adapt to support and provide solutions to the wider organisation, always making sure we put the needs of our customer first.

Kelly – Management Assistant

I joined EMCOR UK after college in April 1999 as an Office Junior within the Projects sector. I loved this role and working alongside a fantastic team of people who encouraged me to develop. I naturally shifted into an HR focused role, still supporting the Projects Operations Director, where I achieved my CIPD qualifications. After having my second child, I decided to switch career paths into my current role of Management Assistant where I work closely with the Projects Director and members of the Operational Leadership team.  

There’s never a dull moment in my role and I am very happy working with an amazing team of people who support each other, working together to develop the business, and support the growth of our customers.  

I currently work part-time to balance my career with home life, allowing me to spend more time with my young family. I’m able to watch my children grow up whilst enjoying a fulfilling and challenging career. Looking forward, I can definitely see myself returning to a full-time role where I can continue to support the Projects sector and our customers in the future when the time is right for my family.

Bev - Senior Fleet Administrator

I started my career with EMCOR UK in July 2021, joining the close-knit Fleet department, responsible for the management of the company’s fleet of vehicles. Supporting the Head of Fleet and Maintenance Controller, I am responsible for day-to-day functions such as driving licence checks through to booking vehicles in for maintenance issues or scheduling appointments such as MOTs. It’s a very varied and enjoyable role where no two days are ever the same. As a team, we have a lot of contact with drivers and their line managers throughout EMCOR UK, from Southampton to Scotland. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of my role, helping to keep our drivers mobile and providing support - they have an important job to do and often it’s time critical. 

EMCOR UK is a great place to work; the environment, the ethos and their values make it so. Our company is consistently looking for ways to improve the working experience for employees; training and guidance are always at hand if required for any role. I hope to be working for EMCOR UK for many years to come, whether I continue developing skills in my current role or progress to another role for new challenges later down the line.

Debbie – Security Administrator

As an essential part of the Security and Screening team, I am responsible for guiding applicants through the process of the DBS and other high-level security checks. This involves multiple factors spanning from communication with internal stakeholders as well as external parties. Attention to detail and effective communication are key. 

Throughout my eight years at EMCOR UK, my role has changed and adapted to the needs of the business. From a desk-based role, I have expanded my skillset to become a bridge between the Recruitment/HR and Security teams, travelling to sites across the UK to train managers and add value to the interview process. This continued interaction and variety in my work keeps my job interesting and it gives me a sense of achievement to see my meaningful impact on the business.
