EMCOR UK has won the Business Performance Improvement Award at the Business Standards Institution (BSI) Awards 2022.
The BSI Standards Awards is split into two main sections - Standards Makers Awards and Standards Users Awards. EMCOR UK was one of four businesses to be recognised in the Standards Users section, which recognise how organisations have used a voluntary standard(s) to achieve a particular outcome(s) for a specific project, product or service.
EMCOR UK was recognised for its combined application of ISO 27500: Human Centred Organisation, ISO 45003: Psychological Health and Safety at Work, and ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety.
The use of these standards has enabled EMCOR UK to provide a whole person approach to fostering positive physical and mental health in the workplace. They have created an environment whereby all employees find meaning and purpose and can bring their whole selves to work, thus improving physical, psychological, psychosocial, and financial wellbeing.
The standards provide the framework for what is now an enterprise approach to risk management, assurance, physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace and they underpin the fulfilment of EMCOR UK’s vision of “creating a better world at work.”
Jonathan Gawthrop, Executive Director, Wellbeing, Sustainability & Assurance at EMCOR UK, said: “We’re delighted to have been recognised by a body as well regarded as the BSI. This award is evidence that the steps we have taken in recent years to create a better world at work are having the desired impact. Providing a whole person approach is an integral part of our workplace strategy and we’ll continue to develop this in 2023 and beyond.”
